Minimum percentage of marks for admission to the Unreserved Category Seats in all M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. Course of Studies under Faculty Councils of Science & Arts is 50% at the Bachelor Degree with Honours level in the concerned/relevant subject (As per Course/Program wise Qualifying Bachelor Degree, mentioned in the Point No.-7 of Information Brochure) from a UGC recognised University. For candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B/ DA/ SP Categories, eligibility is minimum percentage of 45% marks in Bachelor Degree with Honours in the concerned/relevant subject (As per Course/Program wise Qualifying Bachelor Degree, mentioned in the Point No.-7 of Information Brochure).

Eligibility Criteria:

 

     Women's Studies: Honours Graduates of any UGC recognized University who have done the three-year Hons. Course in History, Pol. Sc., Philosophy, Sociology, Economics and Languages with minimum 50% marks.

 

     MLIS: Honours Graduates of any UGC recognized University who have done the three-year Hons. Course/LLB/BBA/BCA/B.E./B.Tech./B.Pharm./MBBS etc. with a minimum of 50% marks.

 

     Mass Communication:  Honours Graduates of any UGC recognized University who have done the three-year Hons. Course/LLB/BBA/BCA/B.E./B.Tech./ B.Pharm./MBBS etc. with a minimum of 50% marks.

 

     Master of Social Work (MSW):  Honours Graduates of any UGC recognized University who have done the three-year Hons. Course/LLB/BBA/BCA/B.E./B.Tech./ B.Pharm./MBBS etc. with a minimum of 50% marks.

No, you need not to appear for any separate examination.

Admission to the Post Graduate Course of Studies will be offered strictly as per the merit and Merit List (Rank List) will be prepared on the basis of Grade Points to be calculated by adding 60% of Bachelor Degree Honours Marks with 20% of HS or equivalent examinations’ marks and 20% of Madhyamik or equivalent examinations’ marks.

 

Grade Point (GP) = 60% of Bachelor Degree Hons Marks + 20% of HS or Equivalent Exam. Marks + 20% of Madhyamik or Equivalent Exam. Marks

 

 In case of the equal Grade Points, the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Bachelor Degree (Honours) is to be considered and calculated for determining the higher position in the merit list. In case of the uniform score in the concerned Bachelor Degree (Honours), the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in Higher Secondary Examination is to be considered and calculated for determining the higher position in the merit list. If the percentage of Higher Secondary marks is also being the same, percentage of Secondary Examination will be considered for ranking. If, at all these stages, performances of more than one student are found to be same, then final decision regarding selection of candidate will be referred to Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, BU.
